The introduction to the university started at the Innovation and Technology Park of PetrSU that currently has 32 enterprises (founded by PetrSU) and employs 450 people.

Rector of PetrSU Anatoly Voronin and the Director for Strategic Planning and Development of the Engineering Center of PetrSU Olga Derbeneva gave a presentation on the work of PetrSU. They told about the structure of the university, its placements in Russian universities rankings, priority research areas and innovations developed under programs and projects (Program for the Development of Students Organizations, Strategic Development Program, Program for Training Engineers, Development Program of the Engineering Center, Karelia ENPI CBC, Kolarctic ENPI CBC and others), cooperation with companies (Onega Tractor Plant (corporate group Tractor Plants), trading house Yarmarka, OOO EFER and others).

Aleksey Shtykov, the Deputy Head of the Regional Representative Office of the Fund for Assistance to Small Innovative Enterprises (Bortnik Fund) told about the work of the Fund.

Among the participants of the meeting were Vladimir Siunev, the Vice-Rector for Scientific Research, Anton Shabaev, the Director of the Automation Systems Center, Aleksey Shtykov, the head of the Innovation and Technology Center for Hardware Components of Electronic Devices and Network Technologies, Valery Gurtov, the Director of the Budget Monitoring Center of PetrSU.

At the IT-Perk Aleksandr Chepik learned about the work of the Budget Monitoring Center, engineering and technical center for electronics (OOO Nanoseti), the Automation Systems Center (OOO Optisoft), the Engineering Center (OOO Karelian Engineering Company), PetrSU-Ponsse Center, engineering and technical center of house construction (OOO Efficient House Construction), ETC of cage culture fishery (OOO Fish Resources), Laboratory of Robotics (OOO Unitronika), Student Business Incubator and Intellectual Club of the Game of Go.

Aleksandr Chepik finished his visit to PetrSU at the Nanocenter of PetrSU that develops nanomaterials and intelligent devices.

Aleksandr Chepik shared his impression of his visit to Petrozavodsk State University, "I liked the methods of personnel selection developed by the Budget Monitoring Center of Petrozavodsk University. I’ve seen promising samples, innovative technologies of wood processing took my particular interest. There were many things I liked. Most importantly, these are developments that are demanded at the international level. In other words, people who work here set their sights on the tasks not to replicate what has been previously done; they aren’t even working on improving the old. Instead, they break new ground, develop new direction and become the best. It is amazing!"
