An associate professor of physics of PetrSU Elena Prokhorova took part in the second All-Russian STEM-Academy of research and design Intel labs for students. The events were held in Moscow State University from 9 to 11 October 2015.

The STEM-Academy allowed for an exchange of experience between STEM-centers in Russia (where there are 80 centers supported of Intel). It provided information necessary for the resource center of PetrSU, in particular, the laboratory "Ilmarinen" created by Petrozavodsk State University with the support of Intel, Lego Education, Polymedia and EMC2. In Russia, such a partnership STEM-Center was first opened by Intel at Petrozavodsk State University.

The laboratory "Ilmarinen" conducts research classes with students of Petrozavodsk in robotics, engineering and natural sciences. The guys are engaged in project activities. The Science Museum of PetrSU conducts tours for school students of Republic of Karelia.
