The Government of the Republic of Karelia awarded the participants of the 22nd international exhibition "High Technologies. Innovation. Investments" held during the Petersburg Technical Fair and the 19th Moscow International Salon "Archimedes-2016”

“It's gratifying that innovators of Karelia make a name for themselves, and I hope this trend will continue. Today, the demand for our scientists’ developments is increasing not only in Russia but also abroad. I congratulate all of you on receiving high diplomas and awards”, said the head of the region.

Alexander Khudilainen noted that the Engineering Center at Petrozavodsk State University is in great demand not only with "Skolkovo" fund, but also with ministers of the federal government who are members of the State Commission on preparation for the 100th anniversary of the Republic. The Head also noted that AFK "System" that is now being actively introduced in the Republic of Karelia is in need of new ideas and developments and is ready to invest in their promotion.

Karelia has long and successfully been participating in the St. Petersburg Technical Fair. This year, the innovators of the Republic once again gathered a solid crop of awards. After a serious competitive selection, they won 13 medals: 3 gold and 10 silver ones. Particularly distinguishing were projects of Petrozavodsk State University, its institutions, innovation centers and small enterprises.

The Head of the Republic handed as many as two gold medals and diplomas of the first degree to the Director of the Institute of High Biomedical Technologies of Petrozavodsk State University, Professor Tatiana Volkova. A gold medal and a diploma of the first degree was also awarded to the director of OOO Fishery resources Anton Kuritsyn.

Scientists of the Institute, headed by Tatyana Volkova, have developed a new system of medical differential diagnosis and a project for antigravity rehabilitation of Parkinson patients. Anton Kuritsyn is one of the authors of manufacturing automatic distribution fish feeders.

Silver medals and diplomas of the second degree were awarded to developments by the Head of the Department of Pharmacology, Organization and Economics of Pharmacy of Petrozavodsk State University, Professor Irina Vinogradova; the engineer of the Laboratory of Nanostructured Oxide Films and Coatings Physics of PetrSU, the Director of OOO ALTIOKSMID Alexander Kokatev; the Head of the Laboratory of Autonomous Systems of the Engineering Center of PetrSU Sergei Zavyalov; and the Head of the Center for Technology Transfer of PetrSU Pavel Budnik.

Among the silver medal winners are the assistant professor of the Department of Information-measuring Systems and Physical Electronics of Petrozavodsk State University Vadim Putrolaynen, the Head of the Department of Propedeutics of Internal Medicine and Hygiene of the Medical Institute of PetrSU Professor Olga Dudanova, and the Professor of the same Institute Olga Barysheva.

Projects by Karelian innovators were also marked by three medals of the Moscow International Salon of Inventions and Innovation Technologies "Archimedes-2016". The Head of the Republic Alexander Khudilainen awarded a gold medal and a diploma to the Director of the Laboratory of Autonomous Systems of the Engineering Centre of Petrozavodsk State University Sergei Zavyalov and Svetlana Komendatenko, a programmer of the Center. Like Sergey Zavyalov and Svetlana Komendatenko, the Director of OOO Fishery resources Anton Kuritsyn accepted congratulations. The Head awarded him a silver medal and a diploma. A second award was also given to Vadim Putrolaynen. He won a bronze medal of the prestigious exhibition "Archimedes".

At the end of the awards ceremony including the best innovators of the Republic, Alexander Khudilainen again congratulated them on the appreciation of their intellectual work and wished further success in the innovative and inventive activities.

- I hope that the tradition of successful representation of Karelia in prestigious exhibitions will continue. We will continue to advance our high science in the real economy, and your ideas and developments will also be in demand”, said the Head.
