PetrSU Won 3 Gold and 8 Silver Medals at St. Petersburg Technical Fair 2017!

For the 13th time St. Petersburg Technical Fair has brought together companies from seven key industries.

Around 200 industrial entities and research institutions from Russia, Hungary, Germany, Italy, China, Latvia, Taiwan, Finland and the Czech Republic presented their newest products. The Fair was visited by over 5 000 specialists representing different industries, who had the opportunity to see metal working machinery and automation equipment in action, get acquainted with the wide assortment range of fasteners and fastening tools, innovative solutions etc.

As is customary St. Petersburg Technical Fair hosted the announcement of the winners and prize-winners of the prestigious contest “The Best Innovation Project and the Best Scientific and Technological Development of the Year” held at the International Exhibition and Congress High Technologies. Innovations. Investments (Hi-Tech) since 1998.

The panel of experts has evaluated over 100 projects by various criteria, selected the most promising developments and awarded silver and gold medals. Alongside medals, the creators of the best projects were given the opportunity to present their work at the “INVESTODROM”.

“INVESTODROM” is a new event established with a view to develop “mature” investment projects and create interactive investment and the innovative environment by the Interindustry Union for Development of High-Technology Exports and Import Substitution (MSVEI) and RESTEC Exhibition Company.

Petrozavodsk University is a regular participant of St. Petersburg Technology Fair. Every year innovative projects and solutions of the university take part in the contest “The Best Innovation Project and the Best Scientific and Technological Development of the Year” and get positive reviews from the panel of experts.

Out of 12 innovative projects and solutions submitted for the contest by PetrSU, 11 became the prize-winners and were awarded gold and silver medals.

Innovative projects of the Engineering Center of PetrSU the “Continuous Sorting Machine” and the “Bolometers with MEMS Membranes of Colossal Magnetoresistance Material” became the gold medal winners in the categories “Import Substitution” and “Best Innovative Project in the field of Nanotechnologies and Nanomaterials” respectively.

In the category “Best Innovative Projects in the field of Information and Educational Technologies, Enhancement of Status and Standards for Professional Training World Skills Hi-Tech, Future Skills” the gold medal was awarded to the project of the Institute of High Biomedical Technologies of PetrSU “The Blood Simulator for Medical and Biological Use SUPER BLOOD”.

The silver medal winners of the contest are:

  1. Vector strain sensors based on soft magnetic metallic glass. 
  2. Cut&FireFight – Multifunctional complex designed to prevent forest fires.
  3. Two-machine system for wood modification.
  4. Autonomous power supply unit ThermoDelta
  5. Mobile robotic off-road platform with carrying capacity of up to 80 kg.
  6. Sintered metal powders with nanomodified coating for implants and prostheses
  7. Superhydrophobic coating on anodic aluminium alloys
  8. Multifunctional biocompatible nanofibres for biomedical use and bioelectronics.

The project “Autonomous power supply unit ThermoDelta” was recommended for participation in the “INVESTODROM”.
