The Business Week is a series of events about entrepreneurs and for entrepreneurs.

On August 28-31 Petrozavodsk and Kondopoga host annual Forum of small and middle businesses of the Republic of Karelia, Forum “Monocities-2017”, the first meeting of the committee for small business under the Government of the Republic of Karelia, competition “Entrepreneur of the Year”, photo exhibition “Business in Focus”, and exposition of locally produced goods “Made in Karelia”, announcement of the results of the contest for the “Best Trademark ‘Made in Karelia” and many others.

The acting Head of the Republic of Karelia Artur Parfenchikov addressed the participants of the Business Week with a welcoming word:

“In order to solve problems and define the key areas for the development of small and medium enterprises, optimize the interaction between entrepreneurs and banking sector we organized the Business Week. Infrastructure developed at the Boiling Point by the Agency for Strategic Initiatives is a great support in addressing these problems. I am sure that the coworking center will become one of the principal platforms for regular discussion of pressing issues in the field of entrepreneurship. We have many questions, many problems, many plans, but together we can solve everything. I wish you rewarding and fruitful work.”

The majority of the events of the Business Weed will be held at PetrSU, which is one of the organizers of this large-scale event. On behalf of the University, the Vice-Rector for Scientific Research of PetrSU Vladimir Siunev addressed the representatives of the business community: “This Forum is special for our university, as Petrozavodsk State University has become the Flagship University of the region. Our mission is to facilitate the regional development, support and develop scientific and creative activities of the youth in cooperation with the Government of Karelia. PetrSU is ready to get involved in the discussion and solving the problems of the region. The Flagship University Development Program provides for strategic projects that will make the life of the citizens of our Republic better and more efficient!”

Elena Gnetova, the Business Rights Commissioner in the Republic of Karelia, told about the prospects that open for entrepreneurs at the Business Week: “We have an opportunity to convene and talk to each other. To get to know and see the successes of our entrepreneurs, learn from those who have achieved success not only in Karelia but in other regions. The aim of the Forum is to hear out the problems and discuss possible solutions to these problems.

The organizer of the Business Week is the Ministry of Economic Development and Industry of the Republic of Karelia, with the support of the Ministry of Youth Affairs, Physical Culture and Sports of the Republic of Karelia, Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Karelia, Petrozavodsk State University.
