Young Inventors Will Receive 500 Thousand Rubles

The Innovation Promotion Fund approved the lists of projects submitted for funding under the UMNIK program. The UMNIK program is aimed at supporting commercially oriented scientific and technical projects of young researchers.

The Innovation Promotion Fund approved the lists of projects submitted for funding under the UMNIK program. The UMNIK program is aimed at supporting commercially oriented scientific and technical projects of young researchers.

The UMNIK competition was held for the 11th time in Petrozavodsk State University. Twenty-six young inventors presented their projects at the competition in the areas of "Digital Technologies", "Medicine and Health Saving Technologies", "New Devices and Smart Manufacturing Technologies", "Biotechnologies", and "Resource Saving Power Industry".

The list of winners of the competition for the best innovation project includes the following projects by representatives of the Republic of Karelia:

·         Ruslan Alkin, 6th-year student, Institute of Mathematics and Information Technologies of PetrSU, the project: "Development of software for the automated placing of elements of fire protection systems in the design of civil and industrial facilities"; 

·         Alina Vasilyeva, 3rd-year student, Institute of Biology, Ecology and Agricultural Technologies of PetrSU, the project: “Development of a technology for producing complex feed preparations with antibacterial effect on the basis of bacteriocins of the genus Lactobacillus”; 

·         Svetlana Gavrik, 4th-year student, Institute of Forestry, Mining and Construction Sciences of PetrSU, the project: “Development of technology for designing acoustic positioning system for cage modules for cage fish farming”; 

·         Elizaveta Gashnikova, 4th-year student, Institute of Medicine, the project: "Development of a compact chemical and analytic complex for indicating injuries of the rectal mucosa"; 

·         Ilya Kibroev, 4th-year student, Institute of Forestry, Mining and Construction Sciences of PetrSU, the project: “Development of a technology for forecasting the mining parameters of raw materials in places of natural occurrence of angular rock on the basis of anisotropy analysis of elastic waves”; 

·         Valeria Kovalyova, 3rd-year student, Institute of Medicine of PetrSU, the project: "Development of an effective anti-adhesive product for intrusive technology in case of device-associated infections"; 

·         Alexander Kuchko, 6th-year student, Institute of Biology, Ecology and Agricultural Technologies of PetrSU, the project: “Development of a technology for creating a biocomposite on the basis of schungite for the remediation of fishery water areas” 

·         Nikita Sobolev, employee and postgraduate of the Institute of Physics and Technology of PetrSU, the project: "Development of an adaptive terminal for the relay protection of electrically-powered equipment on the basis of a programmable integrated logic circuit"; 

·         Anna Uspenskaya, 1st-year student, Institute of Biology, Ecology and Agricultural Technologies of PetrSU, the project: “Development of technology for growing roll lawns using forest industry wastes and storm drains for greening and recultivation of technologically disturbed lands”; 

·         Taras Tsaryov, 1st-year student, Institute of Forestry, Mining and Construction Sciences of PetrSU, the project: "Development of a laboratory setup for determining the conditions for cutting wood with different saw teeth"; 

·         Dmitry Cherepanov, the project: “Development of the technology for the protection of electric meters by a tender multicomponent antimagnetic screen on the basis of FeCoPB metallic glasses”; 

·         Denis Shilovich, 6th-year student, Institute of Mathematics and Information Technologies of PetrSU, the project: "Development of a hardware-software complex for the distance measurement of ice cover thickness on the basis of an unmanned aerial vehicle"; 

·         Alexander Shoshin, 1st-year student, Institute of Biology, Ecology and Agricultural Technologies of PetrSU, the project: “Development of antithrombotic low-toxic reagents on the basis of N-oxides for using on drug eluting stents”; 

·         Arina Bogdanova, Institute of Biology of the Karelian Research Centre of the Russian Academy of Sciences, the project: “Development of simulator of human plasma and blood serum for use in simulation technologies”; 

·         Andrei Tolstoguzov, Institute of Biology of the Karelian Research Centre of the Russian Academy of Sciences, the project: “Development of a device for fast marking of animals with tape marks with digital coding”.

The winners will receive grants for 2 years in the amount of 500 thousand rubles for the development of innovative projects.

In total, 46 applications were submitted to the competition this year. According to statistics, throughout the entire period of the competition in Karelia, more than 160 people have become winners of the program; 64.3 million rubles have been paid for the implementation of their projects.
