PetrSU at the 8th International Forum “Open Innovations”

On October 23 the Skolkovo Innovation Center closed the 8th International Forum “Open Innovations”. The Forum had three topical days: “Digital Person”, “Intellectual Economy”, “Future Technologies”. On October 22 the Forum held the plenary session on the challenges of digitalization featuring the Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Dmitry Medvedev.

Over eight years the Forum has become a unique international platform that convenes technology entrepreneurs, researchers, experts, students, officials and representatives of corporations from various countries and regions.

This year the speakers of the “Open Innovations” were 655 representatives of business, science, authorities, top managers of Russian and international corporations, experts in high technologies, education, investment. The geography of the Forum covered 102 countries, including Germany, the Republic of Korea, the USA, Japan, France, the United Kingdom, Australia, Tunisia.

The Startup Expo showcased over 160 innovative solutions, including 4 projects of Petrozavodsk State University selected by the Ministry of Education and Sciences of Russia for the compiled stand of the Ministry:

  • Development of solid-state drives and data storage systems with the use of integrated memory chips of large scale integration produced with the technology of 3D polycrystal packaging;
  • Development  of hybrid technology of producing polycrystal chips with simultaneous use of Flip-Chip and Wire Bond for developing national import-substituting microelectronic modules of large scale integration
  • FireRoll, a unit for processing wooden particles
  • New technical and technological solutions for the production of functional food products for citizens of northern territories.

Petrozavodsk State University was represented by the Deputy Head of the Department for Innovation and Production Aleksey Shtykov. At the roundtable discussion “Advanced digital, intellectual, production technologies, robot systems” he presented his report “Hybrid technology of producing polycrystal chips for developing national import-substituting microelectronic modules of large scale integration”. In his report Alexey covered the results of the project “hybrid technology of producing polycrystal chips with simultaneous use of Flip-Chip and Wire Bond for developing national import-substituting microelectronic modules of large scale integration” (Agreement No. 075-02-2018-1930 of 20.12.2018, unique ID RFMEFI57718X0293). PetrSU implements the project in the framework of the Federal target program “Research and Development in Priority Areas of Scientific and Technological Complex of Russia for 2014-2020” in cooperation with the industrial partner GS Nanotech.
